Anxiety in Children: Signs, Types & When to Seek Help
Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in children. Learn to recognize the signs and understand when professional help is needed.
How Common Is Anxiety in Children?
Anxiety disorders affect approximately 7% of children ages 3-17 in the United States, making them the most common childhood mental health condition. Left untreated, childhood anxiety can worsen over time and contribute to academic difficulties, social isolation, and depression.
Early recognition and intervention significantly improve outcomes. Understanding what anxiety looks like in children is the first step toward getting your child the help they need.
